Web Designer

Every here-and-there we offer an internship. These positions are intensive, demanding a lot from new designers. (They also tend to turn into full-time, permanent positions at Halo Technologies.)

Description

The Web Designer is a promising new designer who solves web communication problems in a methodical fashion. She/he is actively involved in agency projects, assisting with research, exploration, and execution of concepts, as well as writing, documentation, and production tasks. If you like creating beautiful designs, browsing the web and checking Facebook (yes you are allowed Facebook) this is the job for you.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Three (3) years or more in Web & Graphic design.
  • Obviously you will need CXC passes in Maths & English. We don't care if you have a degree in rocket science, however if you do this will be awesome as we can discuss ideas in quantum physics.
  • A portfolio of promising work that highlights diverse projects and a meticulous nature
  • Capability with current design/production tools including InDesign, Illustrator, Fireworks and Photoshop
  • Familiarity with CSS, HTML, Browser Compatibility, Web Optimization and Social media tools
  • PC literacy and command of keyboard shortcuts
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Work well with team members and contribute as needed
  • Design solutions that respond to the client's needs, strategy, and goals
  • Effectively articulate thought in a written or verbal format (including project briefs and documentation)
  • Contribute to solutions employing design theory and pragmatic consideration of needs/usage
  • Proficiently execute on design directions using industry standard applications
  • Follow art direction to ensure efforts reach project directives
  • Work within project schedules and deadlines
